Missing student, 24, may have been crushed, burned after dying in rubbish while partying in Spain: police
A partying student in Majorca, Spain, was allegedly crushed to death by a garbage truck and burned in a landfill after falling into a trash can, according to police.
Agostino Rubini Medina, 24, disappeared for almost three weeks after disappearing with his friends in Palma, the capital of the island of Majorca, according to the US Sun.
The Spanish National Police believe that Medina fell into a trash can while trying to retrieve something like his cell phone and died before he and the trash were thrown into a garbage truck, crushed in the truck’s garbage disposal, and then thrown into an incinerator. .

A shop worker near the bus stop on the way home to Medina said the girl appeared to be drunk and bought a bag of chips from the shop before midnight.
A short time later, a witness told police that he saw Medina’s purse and blouse sitting next to a large trash can about 15 minutes before workers came to empty it.

Tracking data showed that Medina’s phone was in that location for about half an hour before it moved to the incinerator and died, consistent with trip records from the garbage truck, according to the New York Post.
Authorities say he may have been killed in the truck before it reached the plant.

The police later found human remains in the crematorium and sent them for DNA testing to determine if they belong to Medina.
Medina was a thin woman with a low tolerance for alcohol and was on medication, police said, adding that this may have caused her to faint.
